Global Council for Tolerance and Peace condemns statements insulting the Prophet in India

The Global Council for Tolerance and Peace has condemned statements by the spokesperson for the India’s Bharatiya Janata Party, expressing its denunciation and rejection of insults of the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him.

Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Council, said the council and its partners from 95 countries are working to promote a culture of tolerance, compassion and communication among countries.

In a statement, the Council denounced all practices that contradict its ethical principles, calling for ensuring respect for religious symbols and confronting hate speech, as well as encouraging relevant international partnerships to spread the values of tolerance, coexistence and peace.
