The cabinet on Sunday approved an amended by-law for the use of government vehicles by-law for 2023. The by-law, approved in a cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, aims at expanding authorities of the Supervisory Committee to regulate the use of government vehicles, and enabling it to consider and decide on requests to purchase government vehicles, transfer their ownership, replace their plates, loan , gift, and donate them. It also aims to include government-owned companies in its provisions, and introduce an electronic tracking system to monitor government vehicles. The cabinet also approved mandating reasons for the draft administrative organization system for the Ministry of Political and Parliamentary Affairs for 2023. The draft system aims to enable the Ministry to be the link between the government and parties, in addition to addressing duplication of tasks between some units and directorates, for the purposes of streamlining performance and achieving effectiveness and efficiency. The government also approved mandating reasons for a draft system amending the administrative organization system of the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship for 2023. The cabinet also approved mandating reasons for drafts of: 2023 public private partnership by-law, the 2023 national registry of government investment projects by-law, and 2023 public private partnership projects calculation by-law. These by-laws is scheduled to be referred to the Legislation and Opinion Bureau to proceed with procedures for duly approving them, while granting them the status of urgency, in implementation of the provisions contained in the Public Private Partnership Law No. (19) of 2023.
