Health Minister Attends Launch of Saudi Red Crescent Authority’s Air Ambulance Service for Pilgrims

Makkah: The Saudi Red Crescent Authority (SRCA) has launched an air ambulance service from the towers surrounding the Grand Mosque in the presence of the Minister of Health and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SRCA Fahad Al-Jalajel. This initiative is part of the Kingdom’s preparations to welcome pilgrims and provide various capabilities to save lives and maintain their health during the Hajj season of 1445 AH.

The Kingdom’s air ambulance service is evident in its ability to reach patients in various locations quickly, provide specialized emergency medical services, and transport patients to specialized health facilities in a short time. This service is part of an integrated health system that starts from receiving the emergency call, providing the service, and ending with transferring the patient to specialized health facilities.

This year, the authority is deploying seven helicopters in different areas surrounding the Grand Mosque and the holy sites to reach all patients and injured individuals. The
launch of the service in the area surrounding the Grand Mosque in Makkah which is considered a strategic location to reach pilgrims throughout their Hajj.

These services are part of the health system’s efforts, meticulously planned and executed with care and attention for every pilgrim. The system provides various health services, including the air ambulance service, through a specialized Saudi team that is highly qualified to handle all types of emergency cases using the latest advanced medical equipment to serve pilgrims.
