Tehran: Iran is set to conduct funeral procedures for the late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei from July 4 to July 9, as reported by Iranian state media.

According to Anadolu Agency, the ceremonies will commence with a farewell event in the capital, Tehran, on July 4 and 5. The funeral ceremonies will then proceed in Tehran on July 6 and move to Qom on July 7. The final burial is scheduled to take place at the Imam Reza Shrine in Mashhad on July 9.

Ali Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli strikes that began on February 28. These attacks also resulted in the deaths of several senior Iranian military commanders and government officials. A ceasefire mediated by Pakistan took effect on April 8, and discussions for a broader agreement have been ongoing since then.
