Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein discussed, in a phone call on Wednesday with his Swedish counterpart Tobias Billstrom, prevention of recurrence of acts that offend Islam and the Holy Qu’ran in Sweden.
They also discussed threats that have been unleashed by the mastermind of the operation of burning a copy of the Holy Qu’ran to recur his act again on Thursday with another person from Iraq in front of the Iraqi embassy in Stockholm.
Fuad Hussein underscored the gravity of these situations and their recurrence, pointing out that the Holy Qur’an is deeply entrenched in the hearts of over 2 billion Muslims worldwide.
For his part, Swedish Foreign Minister expressed his country’s denunciation of this act, reaffirming its commitment to protecting the Iraqi embassy.
