Islamic Arts Festival Unveils Stunning Artworks at House of Wisdom and SPARK

Sharjah: Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of Cultural Affairs at the Sharjah Department of Culture and Director of the Islamic Arts Festival, inaugurated seven captivating artworks as part of the installations participating in the 26th edition of the festival. The inauguration, held at the House of Wisdom and the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park (SPARK), attracted the presence of Marwa Al Aqroubi, Executive Director of the House of Wisdom, along with several international artists, media representatives, and art enthusiasts.

According to Emirates News Agency, the courtyards of the House of Wisdom showcased four remarkable artworks: “The Cloak Pavilion” by Aden Chan of Studio LYYH from Hong Kong, “Illuminated Passages: The Five Pillars” by UK-based artist Romina Khanum, “Lighthouse” by Emirati artist Salma Al Mansouri, and “Keep Your Eyes on the Light” by Saudi artist Fatima Abdulhadi. Meanwhile, SPARK featured three distinctive pieces: “Ashes and Order” by Emirati artist Rawda Al Marzouqi, “Circle of Light” by Kuwaiti artist Mahmoud Shaker, and “Repetition” by Iranian artist Neda Salmanpour.

Al Qaseer and the attendees embarked on a tour of the seven installations, delving into the artists’ inspirations and experiencing the creative processes behind each piece. This exploration provided an opportunity to uncover the intricate details and narratives conveyed through the artworks, aligning with the festival’s theme, “Siraj” (Lantern).

The tour included numerous stops at the installations, offering visitors a chance to engage with the artists as they shared their creative journeys. Each artist elaborated on their process from initial concept to final execution, highlighting how their work resonates with the festival’s overarching theme.
