The Israeli occupation army escalated its airstrikes on southern Lebanon on Saturday evening, targeting in particular the towns of Kunin, Ainata, Qabrikha and Basatin al-Wazzani in a systematic destruction of houses, without causing casualties.
A Lebanese security source told Petra’s correspondent in Beirut that “artillery shelling targeted the towns of Alma al-Shaab, al-Labouna, Tayr Harfa and Rab 30.”
In a letter to the President of the Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations in response to the Israeli letter regarding the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701, the Lebanese Foreign Ministry pointed out that the gateway to a permanent solution is through the comprehensive and full implementation of the UN resolution in all its provisions, and not selectively as the other side is trying to do.
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry added in its letter that the comprehensive implementation of the said resolution means Israel’s withdrawal from all occupied Lebanese territories, s
topping its attacks on Lebanese sovereignty, targeting Lebanese civilians and civilian targets, and engaging in the process of displaying the internationally recognized southern Lebanese land borders under the supervision and auspices of the United Nations.
