The Israeli entity continued its series of airstrikes on villages and towns in southern Lebanon as part of a recently announced ground offensive.
Field sources reported that Israeli warplanes targeted the villages of Srifa, Zefta, Bazourieh, Kaouthariyet El Saiyad, Al Qulayleh, Shema, and Batoulieh.
A raid on Kaouthariyet El Saiyad resulted in the complete destruction of a three-story building and blocked the road between the village and neighboring al-Ghassaniyeh.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Health confirmed 60 deaths and 168 injuries from Israeli airstrikes within the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of casualties from the year-long assault to 2,229 deaths and 10,380 injuries.
The assault on Lebanon, which began in October 2023, has escalated dramatically in recent days, with Israel intensifying air and artillery bombardments. The attacks have now expanded to the capital, Beirut, killing and injuring thousands and displacing over a million people from their homes.
