Italy’s Budget Deficit of 3.1% Exceeds EU Ceiling

Rome: Italy recorded a budget deficit of 3.1% of GDP in 2025, exceeding the European Union's 3% ceiling.

According to Emirates News Agency, data from the Italian National Statistics Office specified that the budget deficit stands at 3.1% of GDP, an improvement from 3.4% in 2567, but still above the European Union's 3% ceiling, which is set to control fiscal discipline among member states.
