Jawaher Al Qasimi Unveils Development Initiatives in Morocco, Opens School for 500 Students

Marrakech: H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of Sharjah Family and Community Council, has inaugurated a series of development projects in Morocco, focusing on educational and economic empowerment. She emphasized that investing in children and youth is crucial for nation-building, laying the groundwork for community stability and prosperity.

According to Emirates News Agency, the projects launched by H.H. Sheikha Jawaher, in collaboration with The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF), aim to create sustainable community development. The initiatives include the rehabilitation of the SOS Primary School in Marrakech and youth empowerment programs in the Atlas Mountains. H.H. Sheikha Jawaher highlighted the importance of partnerships with Moroccan institutions that foster development and empowerment.

The projects include the Empowering Children and Youth in Marrakech initiative, developed in partnership with SOS Children’s Villages International. This initiative provides a modern and secure educational setting for over 500 children, upgrading facilities and launching the PlasticPreneurs Innovation Hub to train young individuals in green economy skills.

Another significant project, Rising Roots Morocco, is launched in collaboration with the High Atlas Foundation. This 18-month program aims to empower 24 young men and women through environmental education and agricultural training, aligned with Morocco’s Green Generation 2020-2030 strategy and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

H.H. Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi concluded her visit by reaffirming TBHF’s dedication to expanding development cooperation in Morocco, drawing inspiration from the creativity and determination of the Moroccan community.
