Amman, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Ayman Al Safadi discussed on Monday with Special Envoy of the Chinese Government on the Middle East Issue Zhai Jun the efforts made to stop the war on Gaza and ensure the delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to the Strip, commitment to international law and international humanitarian law, and the protection of civilians.
During the meeting, Al Safadi stressed the need to stop the humanitarian catastrophe caused by the raging war in Gaza, warning of its dangerous repercussions on the security of the region if it persists.
He also stressed the importance of the resolution adopted by the United Nations General Assembly on Friday that was presented by Jordan, as Chairman of the Arab Group, on the necessity of stopping the war, protecting civilians, and adhering to legal and humanitarian obligations. He praised China’s support for this resolution and its vote in favor of it, which is consistent with the common human values and principles on which the United Nations is based.
He also noted China’s position in the United Nations in support of a ceasefire and delivering humanitarian aid, stressing the need for the Security Council to carry out its duties in implementing international law, maintaining peace, and stopping violence and war.
