JREEEF, USAID Partner to Boost Energy Efficiency in Factories

Amman: The Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund (JREEEF) and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Business Growth Activity signed a cooperation agreement on Wednesday to implement energy efficiency technologies in factories.

The agreement was signed by JREEEF Director General Rasmi Hamzeh and USAID Business Growth Activity Chief of Party Wafaa Aranki.

Hamzeh stated that JREEEF aims to increase the competitiveness of the industrial sector by reducing energy costs and carbon dioxide emissions, in collaboration with various donors.

Aranki highlighted the USAID Business Growth Activity’s support for industries and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in adopting energy efficiency policies, praising JREEEF’s role in supporting the business sector and emerging companies.

The energy efficiency program aims to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions in medium and small factories, aligning with JREEEF’s strategic objectives. The program includes comprehensive energy audit studies, covering 100 percent of the cost up to JD10,000, and technical support from JREEEF experts.

The Business Growth Activity supports the competitiveness of the industrial sector by promoting green practices and sustainability. It also aims to enhance productivity, create employment opportunities, and foster innovation in Jordanian SMEs. The program focuses on integrating women, youth, and persons with disabilities within its initiatives.
