KARRDA Participates in 10th Regional Conservation Forum of IUCN

The King Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority (KARRDA) is participating in the 10th Regional Conservation Forum of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Regional Office for West Asia (ROWA), which will be held over three days in Riyadh starting tomorrow under the patronage of Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture and Chairman of the Board of the National Center for Wildlife Eng. Abdulrahman AlFadley.

KARRDA’s participation aligns with the comprehensive strategic objectives for 2030 for the Royal Reserves and the outcomes of the “Green Saudi Arabia” initiative. It reflects the authority’s pivotal role, initiatives, projects, and programs that support the protection of its reserves according to global best practices.

The reserve is also set to participate in the accompanying exhibition at the forum with a dedicated pavilion to introduce visitors to its contribution to Saudi Arabia’s efforts in expanding protected areas. The goal is to increase the proportion of terrest
rial and marine protected areas to 30% by 2030, one of the key objectives of the “Green Saudi Arabia” initiative, launched by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Higher Committee of Saudi Green.
