Kuwait Assistant Foreign Minister for human rights, Ambassador Sheikha Jawaher Ibrahim Duaij Al-Sabah affirmed on Thursday Kuwait’s dedication to safeguarding and promoting human rights through its adherence to various international treaties and conventions.
In a statement to KUNA, following Sheikha Jawaher’s meeting with Jaber Al-Marri, Chairman of the Arab Human Rights Committee, Sheikha Jawaher discussed the procedures for submitting and reviewing Kuwait’s second periodic report to the Charter Committee, scheduled to be submitted by the end of 2024.
Sheikha Jawaher highlighted Kuwait’s efforts in advancing human rights both in legislation and practice, emphasizing that Kuwait was a pioneering nation in this field within the region.
On his part, Al-Marri expressed the Committee’s readiness to support Kuwait in preparing the periodic report, which is to be presented during the next session at the League of Arab States headquarters by the end of this year.

n rights and its commitment to supporting the right to development and humanitarian efforts to assist those in need, he also recalled the humanitarian work of the late Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who was honored by the United Nations as a humanitarian leader.
