Launching project to restore several houses in old city of Sana’a


The Mayor of the Capital, Dr. Hammoud Abbad, inaugurated the start of work on a project to restore several historic houses in the old city of Sanaa, the first phase, at a cost of 340 thousand dollars.

The first phase includes the restoration and maintenance of 50 houses in the old city of Sana’a, as part of the Youth Employment Through Heritage and Culture project in Yemen, implemented by the Public Works Project in partnership with UNESCO with funding from the European Union.

He pointed out that the project’s second phase aims to restore and maintain about 50 homes in the historic city of Sanaa, and the works project will be implemented in coordination with the General Authority for the Preservation of Historic Cities.
