Lebanon to send complaint to UNSC on Israel’s violation

Lebanon announced Tuesday it would submit a complaint to the UN Security Council (UNSC) to press Israel to remove its breaches and withdraw from Ghajar village, south of Lebanon, in implementation of he Resolution No. 1701.

During his meeting with UN Special Coordinator in Lebanon Joanna Wronecka, Caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants Abdallah Bou Habib asked her to help address this violation, which is part of continued breaches that pose threat to stability and calm in southern Lebanon and the region, Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants said in a statement.

The minister stressed the need of completing the maritime demarcation and searching for ways to address the disputing points as part of the three meetings, including the international forces, Lebanon and Israel in a way that enhances stability and calm in southern Lebanon, in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions, according to the statement.
