Makkah, A specialized medical team from the King Abdullah Medical City’s (KAMC) Cardiac Center, a member of the Makkah Health Cluster, has successfully saved the life of a 60-year-old Malaysian pilgrim.
This medical emergency came after he had experienced severe chest pain accompanied by palpitations and severe dizziness due to ventricular tachycardia, posing a high risk of cardiac arrest.
The Makkah Health Cluster indicated that the Malaysian Hajj campaign immediately transferred the pilgrim to King Abdulaziz Hospital in Makkah.
Afterwards, communication was established through the hotline service of KAMC’s catheterization department, and the patient was swiftly transported by ambulance, with the treatment protocol activated immediately.
The cluster added that the medical team had successfully performed an electrocauterization on the focal point that had caused the accelerated heart rate, and this procedure contributed to saving the patient’s life. It said the patient is now under close observation in th
e cardiac intensive care unit, recovering well and in good health.
