Casablanca, The Makkah Route Initiative employs various forms of modern technology to simplify Hajj travel procedures, providing high-quality services and enhancing pilgrims’ experience.
Artificial intelligence (AI) and professional solutions are utilized in the Makkah Route Initiative’s lounge at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca to cater to the needs of all pilgrims. Facial recognition and fingerprint technologies are used expedite the entry and exit process for pilgrims.
Additionally, a mobile counter device has been used this year to register pilgrim data and biometrics and provide the required services with the aim of expediting procedures.
The Makkah Route Initiative is being implemented by the Ministry of Interior for the sixth year under the Pilgrim Experience Program, which is part of Saudi Vision 2030.
The initiative is taking place in collaboration with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Media, as well as the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Saudi Data and AI
Authority (SDAIA), the Pilgrim Experience Program, and the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.
