Dubai: H.H. Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, today inaugurated the 10th edition of Gulfood Manufacturing at the Dubai World Trade Centre. This globally recognized event focuses on the entire food manufacturing ecosystem and runs concurrently with Gulfhost, the premier hospitality and foodservice equipment event for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, from 5-7 November 2024. The co-located events serve as a platform for food and beverage (FandB) manufacturing and foodservice professionals worldwide to explore current trends, establish professional networks, and finalize significant business agreements.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed, along with His Excellency Helal Al Marri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, toured both Gulfood Manufacturing and Gulfhost. Following the official opening, the FoodTech Summit commenced with a keynote session focusing on leveraging
Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital transformation, and other emerging technologies in the industry. Dr. Mark van Rijmenam, a strategic futurist, spoke on AI’s transformative potential in food manufacturing, particularly in automation, digital twins, and predictive maintenance.
Flavie Paquay, Country Director – UAE at Business France, emphasized France’s enthusiasm to present the innovative spirit and sustainable practices of 62 leading exhibitors in food processing and advanced hospitality solutions during the events. Paquay highlighted France’s commitment to supporting the UAE’s vision for food security, efficiency, and sustainable growth. He noted the importance of the collaborative relationship between France and the UAE in creating resilient food systems and pioneering practices that align with regional goals.
Zubair Motiwala, CEO of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, expressed Pakistan’s intention to enhance its export value, including $4 billion in rice and $480 million in sesame seeds, t
hrough participation in Gulfood Manufacturing. Motiwala reported a positive experience at the event, with strong interest from numerous buyers, and expressed plans to expand Pakistan’s presence in future editions.
The events provide nearly 3,000 global FandB manufacturing and foodservice brands an opportunity to present their latest products and solutions. Notably, Falcon Professional Kitchen launched the Quick Response Service (QRS), a 24/7 support solution for commercial kitchens, on the first day of Gulfhost. The Gulfhost Foodservice Excellence Summit featured discussions on regional foodservice trends for 2025 and beyond, focusing on energy efficiency, innovative solutions, and the evolving role of women leaders in the industry.
