Caretaker Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi on Monday said that “the events that have recently taken place are being investigated duly by the security authorities under the supervision of the judiciary in order to clinch stability.” “In Kahaleh, the security members acted in a way that protected citizens and civil peace,” he said after a meeting for the Central Security Council. Commenting on Ain Ebel crime, he said investigations are still underway and they have shown that there was no political motive behind the crime. He also stressed the necessity of preventing strife and enforcing the laws.
