A member of the Supreme Political Council, Muhammad al-Nuaimi, accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation, Eng. Abdul-Malik al-Thawr, inspected the progress of work in the tissue multiplication laboratory for the production of seed potato seeds in Sana’a.
Al-Nuaimi and Al-Thawr, along with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Vice-Chairman of the Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, were briefed on the departments and facilities of the joint laboratory between the Public Company for the Production of Potato Seeds of the Agriculture Ministry and the private sector, as well as the covered greenhouse dedicated to tissue culture.
The Supreme Political Member, Al-Nuaimi, praised the role of the tissue multiplication laboratory for the production of seed potato seeds and its equipment, which represents a successful model of partnership between the government and the private sector as a qualitative agricultural work in the field of tissue culture, especially for potato seedlings.
The Supreme Political Member considered the production of disease-free seedlings and offshoots with international specifications as one of the most important factors helping to produce crops of nutritional value and high quality in abundant quantities to meet the requirements and needs of food security in the country.
