Berlin: The Sharjah Space and Astronomy Hub (SSAH) has strengthened its international partnerships through a recent visit to the Arab-German Young Academy of Sciences and Humanities (AGYA) in Berlin, underscoring the emirate's growing role in global scientific collaboration.

According to Emirates News Agency, Noura Abbas Al Amiri, head of the High-Energy Astrophysics Laboratory at SSAH and regional liaison coordinator for AGYA in the UAE and the Gulf, participated in the official visit to AGYA's headquarters at the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities. The visit featured an advisory board meeting and several coordination meetings with the academy's staff. These discussions focused on the efforts of the Emirate of Sharjah and the UAE in supporting AGYA's activities and scientific initiatives in the region, while exploring ways to expand cooperation in scientific and cultural fields.

The meetings also addressed a number of future initiatives and programs that will involve AGYA, SSAH, and the University of Sharjah. The aim is to broaden international cooperation, exchange expertise, and enhance opportunities for scientific and cultural research between the two sides. This visit is part of a broader initiative to deepen international scientific cooperation and establish active partnerships with leading academic and research institutions globally.

AGYA, founded in 2013, operates with support from Germany's Federal Ministry of Education and Research. It functions under the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities and the German National Academy of Sciences, Leopoldina. The academy aims to foster cooperation between young researchers from Arab countries and Germany by supporting joint research projects, promoting scientific and cultural dialogue, and developing initiatives to address common social and development challenges.
