Minister of Communications inaugurates telecommunications projects worth more than six billion riyals in Dhamar

The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Engineer Misfer Al-Numair, and the Deputy Governor of Dhamar Province, Muhammad Abdul Razzaq, inaugurated telecommunications projects at a cost of six billion and 289 million and 416 thousand riyals, with self-financing.

The projects that were inaugurated on the anniversary of the Prophet’s birth and the holidays of the blessed Yemeni revolution include the establishment of data transmission stations, Yemen Mobile stations, new buildings, the restoration of solar energy facilities and projects, the addition of new towers, and the maintenance and expansion of the copper network and the Internet.

During the opening, in the presence of the Executive Director of the General Telecommunications Corporation, Engineer Sadiq Musleh, his deputy – Head of the Technical Sector, Engineer Muhammad Al-Mahdi, and the Deputy Director General – Head of the Administrative Sector, Issam Al-Hamli, minister Al-Numair heard from the Director of the Corporation’s branch in the governorate, Engineer Fouad Al-Qawas, an explanation about the projects that were opened, their role in serving the telecommunications sector, and the development and modernization efforts being implemented to improve the performance of the telecommunications sector.

Minister Al-Numair stressed the keenness to improve the performance of the telecommunications sector, expand the implementation of projects that meet the ongoing expansions, keep pace with the developments witnessed by this sector, and improve the quality of services provided.

He pointed out the need for the year 1445 AH to be the year of expanding new projects and creating a qualitative shift in the level of services provided, stressing the importance of preserving the capabilities of the telecommunications sector and customers and meeting their aspirations.

In turn, Governorate Undersecretary Abdul Razzaq praised the efforts of the General Telecommunications Corporation, the quality of services it provides, and what it is doing to improve the level of communications services.

The opening was attended by Deputy Director of the Communications Corporation Branch, Engineer Ali Al-Ansi.
