Ministers Condemn Israeli Violations in Gaza Strip in Joint Statement

Abu dhabi: The Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Trkiye, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Arab Republic of Egypt have issued a joint statement expressing their strongest condemnation of the ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip. The statement highlights concerns over the targeting of healthcare facilities, civilian infrastructure, and the loss of civilian lives, including women and children, which they assert are in grave violation of international and humanitarian law.

According to Emirates News Agency, the ministers emphasized that these actions by Israel constitute a clear breach of its obligations under international law and the Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict. They warned that such violations undermine efforts to implement the second phase of the plan, particularly in light of the announcement by US President Donald Trump that Palestinian factions had accepted the roadmap. The statement suggests that these developments threaten to derail the political process and worsen the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

The ministers stressed the importance of protecting civilians and ensuring the safe delivery of humanitarian assistance and medical supplies throughout the Gaza Strip. They also noted that these are legal obligations that should not be compromised under any circumstances.

The statement further linked the situation in Gaza to broader issues in the region, including attacks by settlers in the Occupied West Bank, the expansion of settlements, and unilateral measures in Occupied Jerusalem. The ministers argued that these actions collectively undermine the two-State solution and violate international law and UN resolutions.

The ministers called on the international community, particularly the United Nations Security Council, to take effective measures to hold Israel accountable for its obligations under international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2803. They stressed the need for accountability to protect civilians and advance the peace process towards a permanent ceasefire.

Finally, the ministers reiterated their rejection of any attempts to annex Occupied Palestinian Territory or impose Israeli sovereignty over it. They asserted that a just and comprehensive peace can only be achieved through a serious political process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian State based on the 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
