Ministry of Fisheries announces ban on catching squid in Red Sea region

The Ministry of Fisheries announced the closure of the season of catching squid in the Red Sea region from the maritime waters of the Republic of Yemen from 28 Dhu al-Qi`dah 1444H corresponding to 17 June 2023 until further notice.

In a decision issued by the Ministry, the Yemeni News Agency (SABA) obtained a copy of it, prohibiting the fishing of squid in the Red Sea region from Yemen’s maritime waters during the closure of the fishing season.

The Ministry of Fisheries called on the General Authority for Fisheries in the Red Sea to limit the quantities of squid stored in refrigerators to exporters and raise the results of the inventory to a maximum of 10 days.

Anyone who violates the provisions of this resolution will be punished by the penalties prescribed by the Law on the Regulation and Protection of the Hunting and Exploitation of Aquaculture and its amendments and implementing regulations.
