Ministry of Interior reveals details of thwarting Emirati intelligence-run criminal scheme

Brigadier General Abdulkhaliq Al-Ajri, the Ministry of Interior’s spokesman, revealed on Thursday that security services arrested members of a criminal cell and thwarted intelligence plans of aggression countries before carrying out criminal operations aimed to destabilize security and public tranquility.

Brigadier General Al-Ajri said in a statement, of which the Yemeni News Agency (Saba) received a copy, that the security services monitored information indicating the movements of criminal elements that were recruited in the free zones by the accused, Shazbi Muhammad Hussein al-Shathbi, who is located in the occupied Ma’rib governorate, and who linked these elements to an officer of the intelligence agency of the enemy UAE state.

The security services have worked to raise the state of readiness, deploy and distribute investigation and oversight teams, engineering teams, and specific task teams to follow up and identify all elements of the criminal cell and find out their connections in order to arrest all its elements, the spokesman added.

Brigadier General Al-Ajri said, “The security services were able to thwart the intelligence plans of the countries aggression, arrest the criminal cell members, and seize explosive materials sent by the UAE intelligence agency, before they could, through their criminal elements, achieve their malicious goal in targeting the homeland, destabilizing security and stability, and disturbing the public tranquility in free areas.”

The Ministry’s spokesman confirmed that the security services are still following up on the case’s procedures until everyone involved in treason and criminal acts is brought to justice.

He called on all those who were involved and dealt with the enemy’s intelligence to take the initiative to surrender themselves to the justice agencies, indicating that the security services are able to reach them wherever they are.

Brigadier General Al-Ajri affirmed that the capital, Sana’a, and the free provinces live in safety and security, thanks to Allah, the efforts of loyal security men, and the role of honorable citizens.
