A presentation on the agenda’s objectives was delivered by Sana bint Mohammed Suhail, Minister of Family.

Suhail explained that the agenda represents a national commitment to building prosperous and sustainable families, essential for national achievements and development. The launch aligns with UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s declaration of 2026 as the ‘Year of Family’. The agenda seeks to support and empower Emirati families, reinforcing their pivotal role in shaping a balanced and prosperous society.

The agenda, developed with input from over 20 federal and local entities, aims to increase Emirati births and boost marriage rates among Emiratis by 2031. It is built on three strategic pillars: strengthening family identity, consolidating family foundations, and empowering families. These pillars focus on promoting a ‘family growth mindset’, providing social and economic support, and reinforcing family ties.

Suhail emphasized the agenda’s goal to promote positive values and reaffirm the family’s role as a source of identity, particularly for young people. It seeks to counter external influences and strengthen parents’ pride and purpose in raising the next generation. The agenda’s first phase will include initiatives on family-work balance, positive mindsets, reproductive health, and other support programs.
