Moroccan Pilgrim Undergoes Hip Replacement Operation at Makkah Health Center

Makkah: A 70-year-old Moroccan woman has regained her ability to walk after undergoing successful hip replacement surgery at King Faisal Hospital in Makkah.

The surgery, performed by a team of orthopedic surgeons at the hospital, a member of the Makkah Health Cluster, addressed a fracture in the woman’s right femur sustained from a fall.

Following a thorough examination and X-rays at the emergency department, the medical team opted for a half-joint replacement to optimize recovery and independent mobility. The patient was prepped and the surgery completed within a day of admission.

Physical therapy was provided post-surgery, enabling the woman to regain full use of her hip and walk independently to continue her Hajj journey.
