Mubadala Bio Expands Immunology Therapies Portfolio

Abu Dhabi:Mubadala Bio announced the launch of two new immunology therapies, Adalimumab and Ustekinumab, through its subsidiary Bioventure Healthcare. This initiative aims to expand its biologics portfolio and reinforces its commitment to delivering advanced therapeutic solutions.

According to Emirates News Agency, the introduction of these therapies marks a milestone in Mubadala Bio's strategy to enhance access to high-quality treatments for chronic conditions. These conditions often require ongoing treatment to manage symptoms, control disease progression, and improve patients' quality of life.

Dr. Essam Mohamed, Group CEO of Mubadala Bio, emphasized that biologic therapies offer significant value through their targeted approach to disease management. The addition of Adalimumab and Ustekinumab broadens access to specialized treatments, aiding healthcare professionals in providing patient care.

Hamad Almarzooqi, Group Deputy CEO of Mubadala Bio, highlighted that the expanding biologics portfolio reflects the company's progress in advancing and localizing innovative therapies. Each new launch supports the UAE's ambition to become a global hub for life sciences.

Adalimumab is a monoclonal antibody targeting tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and is used for treating autoimmune and inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, plaque psoriasis, and non-infectious uveitis. Ustekinumab, another monoclonal antibody, blocks interleukin-12 and interleukin-23 inflammatory pathways, and is indicated for moderate to severe plaque psoriasis, ulcerative colitis, psoriatic arthritis, and Crohn's disease.
