Muslim Council of Elders Condemns Al-Aqsa Mosque Incursion

Jerusalem:The Muslim Council of Elders has issued a strong condemnation of the recent storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards by Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, along with groups of settlers, under the protection of Israeli police.

According to Emirates News Agency, The Council emphasized its firm rejection of these actions, describing them as provocative and extremist, and highlighted that they represent a blatant violation of international law and conventions. It called for an immediate end to such incursions and the incitement of hatred and violence, and insisted that those responsible be held accountable.

Additionally, the Muslim Council of Elders underscored the importance of respecting the historical and legal status of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, ensuring the protection of holy sites, and stopping ongoing violations. The Council urged the international community to fulfill its duties, take effective measures to stop these violations, and work towards a just and comprehensive resolution of the Palestinian issue. This includes ending the long-standing suffering of the Palestinian people and supporting their legitimate right to establish an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
