Dubai: Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, participated in a major celebration with the Syrian community in the UAE, highlighting their cultural and civilisational heritage. The event took place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City Dubai, drawing over 25,000 attendees, primarily from the Syrian community, along with prominent economic and social figures.
According to Emirates News Agency, the celebration was organized by the ‘Emirates Love Syria’ page in collaboration with the Syrian community. It showcased the richness of Syrian culture, heritage, and arts, emphasizing the strong ties between the UAE and Syria. Sheikh Nahyan expressed his pride in the historic relations between the two nations and their shared commitment to cooperation across various fields.
Sheikh Nahyan emphasized the deep affection and mutual respect between the Syrian and Emirati peoples, highlighting the long history, authentic heritage, and noble human values that form the foundation of their relationship. He noted that these enduring foundations serve as a basis for expanding cooperation to support the prosperity of both nations and the wider Arab region.
During the event, Sheikh Nahyan honored several distinguished Syrian achievers for their notable contributions in the UAE, including Mohammed Bashir Qalaaji, Mohammed Bashar Salo, renowned artist Yasser Anwar Al-Azma, and others. The celebration featured cultural performances, musical shows, traditional dances, heritage exhibitions, and culinary offerings from Syrian cities, providing families and children with interactive experiences.
The event reaffirmed the longstanding fraternal relations between the UAE and Syria, which continue to grow in economic, commercial, investment, and cultural fields. Both nations work together to expand cooperation and promote joint initiatives supporting shared development goals.
MAG Group Holding and Sankari Group joined as strategic partners of the ‘Emirates Love Syria’ celebration. Mowaffaq Ahmed Al Qaddah, Chairman of MAG Group Holding, expressed appreciation for the initiative, while Dr. Abdul Qader Ahmed Sankari, Chairman of the Syrian Business Council in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, emphasized the honourable historic positions uniting Syria and the UAE.
The event highlighted the UAE’s success in fostering an environment of coexistence and cultural harmony, bringing together over 200 nationalities in a climate of mutual respect. It demonstrated the UAE’s commitment to strengthening bonds of friendship and promoting tolerance and cultural understanding globally.
