Nahyan bin Zayed Crowns Winners at 9th Fatima bint Mubarak Women Sports Award

Abu dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, celebrated the achievements of exceptional female athletes at the 9th Fatima bint Mubarak Women's Sports Award. The award has become a prominent model in the Arab world, encouraging female athletes to excel and enhancing the development of women's sports. According to Emirates News Agency, H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed emphasized that the success of the award is due to the continuous support and guidance of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, known as the 'Mother of the Nation'. Her directives have been instrumental in advancing women's sports both locally and across the Arab region. He also praised the contributions of Sheikha Fatima bint Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, whose efforts have amplified the award's influence and presence. During the ceremony held at Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud was honored with the Sports Personality of the Year Award for 2025. Her contributions to sports diplomacy and women's sports in the Arab world were recognized. Other notable winners included Egyptian athlete Fareeda Mohamed Ahmed Khalil as Best Arab Woman Athlete and Emirati shooting champion Salma Haitham Rashid Al Marri as Best Emirati Woman Athlete. Emirati Paralympic track and field champion Thikra Ahmed Al Kaabi received the award for Best Paralympic Woman Athlete. The Sharjah Women's Athletics Team was named Best Women's Team, while Mariam Hassan Al Marzouqi and Maha Yousif Al Khalifa received awards for Best Sports Mother and Best Sports Media Influencer, respectively. Awards also went to Emirati archer Mona Faisal Al Shara for Best Young Woman Athlete and Tunisian judo coach Nihal Reda Mohammed for Best Coach.
