National Experts to Mentor Emirati Youth in China and Japan

Abu Dhabi:Twenty alumni and Fellows of the National Experts Program (NEP) are set to mentor young Emiratis in the UAE Youth Ambassadors Program (YAP) in China and Japan. This initiative aims to transfer knowledge and guidance to the next generation of national talent.

According to Emirates News Agency, over a ten-month mentorship journey, these experts will engage with participants to create a continuous chain of knowledge and experience transfer. This process involves established national leaders mentoring emerging experts, who will then pass on their insights to future Emirati youth.

Hend Al Mheiri, Director of National Experts Program Alumni, highlighted the collaboration's focus on combining the experience of older generations with the energy of younger ones. Nawal Almarzooqi, UAE Youth Ambassadors Program Director, emphasized that the initiative provides a bridge for participants to learn from national experts, broaden perspectives, and translate experiences into project ideas aligned with the UAE's priorities.

The program is designed to enhance participants' skills in critical thinking, research, and communication, foster lasting mentor relationships, and expand professional networks. It also aims to prepare participants for clear and confident idea presentation, deepen cross-cultural understanding, and develop projects with sustainable impacts aligned with national goals.

Among the NEP Fellows involved are experts in fields such as policy, health, technology, and media. The NEP alumni include specialists in community development, advanced sciences, and space, among others. This collaboration reflects a model where those who benefit from mentorship later support others, ensuring the continuity of national expertise and preparing more Emiratis for future contributions to the country's development.
