National Human Rights Institution Board of Trustees convenes for 14th meeting, discusses 2025 operational plan


The National Human Rights Institution (NHRI) Board of Trustees (BoT) recently convened its fourteenth meeting, chaired by Maqsoud Kruse, Chairperson of the NHRI Board of Trustees.

The Board reviewed the General Secretariat’s periodic report on the operational plan for 2024, covering NHRI’s administrative and financial affairs, human resources, and technical systems and projects. This review also included updates on the implementation of complaints systems and related digital services, such as the launch of the NHRI mobile app, improvements to the online complaints page, and the establishment of a dedicated call center for handling complaints.

The Board discussed the operational plan for 2025, prepared by the General Secretariat, which outlines an array of human rights programs, including the launch of ‘Manabir’, a series of educational human rights episodes on YouTube, the semi-annual digital publication ‘Rights Journal’, and ‘Human Rights Oasis’ which is a regular forum for engagement with civil society. he plan also features an awareness campaign titled ‘Know your rights’ and initiatives such as ‘Legislation Lab’ and ‘Knowledge Lab’ in the context of human rights.

To support the ambitious goals of the 2025 operational plan, NHRI has initiated the second phase of its talent acquisition plan. This phase aims to attract qualified professionals for specialized roles in various departments, including Local and International Cooperation Department, Human Rights Protection Department, Human Rights Culture Promotion Department, Strategic Communication Department, as well as in administrative and technical capacities.
