Brussels: NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte welcomed Lt Gen (ret) Keith Kellogg, the United States Special Envoy for Ukraine and Russia, to the North Atlantic Council for discussions with Allies aimed at ending the ongoing conflict against Ukraine.
According to Emirates News Agency, Rutte emphasized the value of extensive, ongoing consultations with the US administration, including the recent meeting of NATO Defence Ministers. He also noted the importance of discussions held on the margins of the Munich Security Conference with US Vice President Vance, Secretary of State Rubio, and other key members of the Trump administration.
The Secretary General underscored the need for a just and lasting resolution to the conflict to ensure a stable future for Ukraine. Rutte welcomed initial responses from Allies to the US call for increased involvement, highlighting that the day’s discussions provided an opportunity to align strategies for supporting a sustainable peace.
