NCEC: High Indicators of Water, Air, Soil and Noise Quality During Hajj Season


Makkah, The National Center for Environmental Compliance (NCEC) has announced the results of the second phase of its operational plan for the 1445 Hajj season. The quality of 64 environmental soil and water samples directly affecting pilgrims and more than 644 potential noise sites were tested. The results showed a high level of compliance with environmental standards.

The head of the Hajj Operations Room at the Center, Engineer Mohammed Ammar, has reaffirmed the center’s proactive stance in addressing environmental violations. About 450 violations identified by the center’s diligent field teams were promptly rectified. The environmental system was effectively applied against the violators, demonstrating the center’s unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship. Moreover, 66 environmental reports received via the Environmental Reports Line No. 998 were promptly and effectively addressed during this stage.

Eng. Ammar also mentioned that the center issued 90 public bulletins regarding air quality indica
tors in Makkah, the Holy Sites, and Madinah since the beginning of the Hajj season. All bulletins were per international quality standards, and detailed reports were provided to the relevant authorities to ensure high air quality.
