Makkah, The National Center for Meteorology (NCM), in collaboration with the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA), introduced a service for early weather alert notifications in Makkah and the holy sites through the “Tawakkalna Services” application.
The service keeps pilgrims updated on the weather conditions in real-time, utilizing data and AI to enhance the services provided by government sectors involved in the Hajj.
The Tawakkalna Services app gives users an overview of weather conditions for all regions of the Kingdom, which can be accessed around the clock.
During the Hajj season, the service also covers the holy sites, sending alerts and warnings regarding weather fluctuations such as rain, temperature, and wind movements.
This initiative is implemented within a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between the NCM and SDAIA to support collaboration in innovation and the development of modern technologies.
It is also part of several national initiatives to benefit from the technologies in the da
ta and AI fields.
