Riyadh: NMDC Energy, a prominent provider of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, has entered a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with Baker Hughes, a global energy technology company based in the United States. This partnership aims to explore opportunities to increase the localisation of key Baker Hughes products and solutions within Saudi Arabia, targeting energy markets across the Middle East, North Africa, Trkiye, and India (MENATI).
According to Emirates News Agency, the collaboration will leverage NMDC's advanced facilities in Saudi Arabia, particularly its yard capabilities, to focus on offshore products and associated services. This initiative includes an Emergency Pipeline Repair System (EPRS) project and a logistics base for offshore flexible pipeline systems, aiming to cater to the Kingdom and the broader MENATI markets. The partnership is distinct from a separate Memorandum of Understanding between NMDC Energy and Baker Hughes concerning gas technology products.
NMDC Energy has been actively collaborating with international, regional, and UAE partners, especially during the ADIPEC event in Abu Dhabi, to enhance its leading EPC services and meet regional sector demands. Ahmed Al Dhaheri, CEO of NMDC Energy, expressed that the company's fabrication capabilities have attracted global players like Baker Hughes, who share a vision of synergy to address the evolving energy sector demands in Saudi Arabia and the MENATI region.
As a strategic enabler of Saudi Arabia's energy sector, NMDC Energy is committed to fostering increased localisation, supporting economic growth, job creation, and diversification in the Kingdom. Earlier this year, NMDC Energy inaugurated its advanced fabrication facilities in Ras Al Khair, Saudi Arabia, strategically located within the Ras Al-Khair Special Economic Zone. Spanning 400,000 square meters, the fabrication yard is equipped to serve both offshore and onshore projects with an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons, featuring advanced automation and digital systems for comprehensive fabrication and maintenance services.
