One Killed, Eight Injured in Russian Attack on Two Ukrainian Ports

Odesa: The Ukrainian authorities announced the killing of one and injury of eight due to a Russian attack on two ports in the Ukrainian Odesa region.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) said that the ports of Pivdennyi and Chornomorsk were targeted, both of which are considered key export arteries for Ukraine's economy. Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksii Kuleba stated that the attack targeted port infrastructure that is involved in ensuring global food security.

Port facilities, administrative buildings, and tanks containing vegetable oil were damaged in the attacks, Kuleba said. Russia has in recent weeks reported multiple advances across several fronts, announcing the capture of a number of new areas in eastern Ukraine, coinciding with ongoing US-led peace talks aimed at resolving the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, now in its fourth year.
