Abu Dhabi:Open Innovation AI and NetApp have announced a collaboration to develop sovereign AI infrastructure for governments and enterprises. The announcement was made at Ai Everything Abu Dhabi 2026.

According to Emirates News Agency, the partnership will focus on integrating Open Innovation AI's Sovereign AI Fabric with the NetApp Platform. This integration is intended to enhance AI infrastructure by combining workload orchestration with AI-ready systems, enabling more efficient compute scaling while maintaining control over data and models.

The collaboration will concentrate on three main areas: integrated AI infrastructure across various workloads, high-performance data infrastructure for real-time data access, and potential deployments for governments and enterprises in diverse environments. The aim is to provide a robust AI setup where data remains secure and accessible.

NetApp's Jose Petisco emphasized the importance of data availability in AI, highlighting how the partnership can help create environments where data protection and accessibility are prioritized. Dr. Abed Benaichouche of Open Innovation AI noted the significance of a strong data foundation for sovereign AI, aiming to provide national-scale AI infrastructure.
