Operation Confrontation Ghost to Involve 30 Countries and International Organizations

Abu Dhabi:The Ministry of Interior has confirmed that 'Operation Confrontation Ghost' will continue with the participation of 30 countries, two international organizations, and 13 partners from the private and technology sectors.

According to Emirates News Agency, the operation targets emerging fraud schemes, such as AI-enabled fraud, online sextortion, and financial fraud conducted through digital platforms. It facilitates real-time intelligence sharing, monitors emerging trends, and relies on specialized expertise to swiftly and accurately identify and address threats, all while adhering to data protection standards.

Lt. Colonel Saeed Khalfan Al Kaabi, Director of the International Cooperation Department, emphasized the importance of cooperation between law enforcement agencies and private sector partners in monitoring, detecting, and preventing fraud. He highlighted the necessity for effective and rapid coordination among relevant entities due to the cross-border nature of these crimes.

Al Kaabi also noted that the UAE supports international efforts to combat fraud through its membership in the Global Anti-Scam Alliance, which includes more than 90 countries and a network of partners from the technology and financial services sectors. This alliance promotes the exchange of expertise and identifies the latest fraud methods and the technologies used to confront them.

He reiterated the UAE's commitment to strengthening cooperation and partnerships with relevant entities and international partners. This commitment aims to improve response times and enhance coordination in efforts to combat fraud and cross-border financial crimes.
