Dubai: Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that more than 130 Chinese companies will showcase their innovations and products at the 28th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX), scheduled to be held from 20th to 22nd October, 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
According to Emirates News Agency, WETEX 2026 is organised by DEWA under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and is under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy. The event aims to present advancements across energy, water, and sustainability sectors, highlighting developments in clean and renewable energy, energy storage, network efficiency, smart cities, environmental protection, artificial intelligence, automation, and digital transformation.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Founder and Chairman of WETEX, noted that the consistent participation of Chinese companies underscores the robust cooperation between the UAE and China, particularly in areas such as investment, technology, and clean energy. Al Tayer emphasized that the Chinese pavilion signifies the shared dedication of both nations to achieving Net Zero and facilitating energy transition, while also supporting their ambition to elevate bilateral trade to US$200 billion by 2030. He highlighted that non-oil trade between the UAE and China reached approximately US$90 billion in 2024, with China maintaining its position as the UAE's leading global trading partner.
David Wang, Chairman of MIE Group, the organiser of the Chinese pavilion, stated that the pavilion has been a strategic international partner for over 15 years. He remarked that WETEX offers Chinese technology firms an entry point into the UAE and broader Middle Eastern markets, reinforcing Dubai's role as a global hub for sustainable energy and water solutions.
Among the participating Chinese companies, Focus Technology Co., Ltd. will present digital trade solutions aimed at connecting Chinese manufacturers with buyers globally. Anhui Chiro Technology Co., Ltd. will offer water filtration and purification technologies for various applications, while Canature Huayu Environmental Products Co., Ltd. will display solutions for desalination and water treatment. Deshi Energy Technology Co., Ltd. will showcase technologies for oil and gas operations. Hebei GN Solids Control Co., Ltd. will demonstrate solid-liquid separation technologies. Ningbo Shitong Water Purifying Systems Co., Ltd. and Vontron Technology Co., Ltd. will highlight their water purification and membrane technologies, respectively.
