Pacemaker Saves Life of Russian Pilgrim

Makkah: A team of medical professionals at the Heart Health Center of King Abdullah Medical City, part of the Makkah Health Cluster, successfully intervened to save the life of a 63-year-old Russian pilgrim who has severe chest pain.

According to the Makkah Health Cluster, the pilgrim had chest pain and was promptly transferred by the Red Crescent’s ambulance after contacting emergency services.

Upon arrival at King Abdullah Medical City, he was promptly directed to the cardiac catheterization unit where the treatment protocol was initiated. The medical team determined that the patient needed a pacemaker with defibrillator function to prevent cardiac arrest.

The health cluster proudly announced the successful implantation of the pacemaker. He is currently under close observation in the cardiac intensive care unit and recovering well. This positive development enables him to resume his Hajj journey under continuous medical supervision.
