Director-General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs Rafik Kharfan on Wednesday discussed with the Director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Affairs in Jordan Olaf Becker the developments of the agency’s staff salary issue and other vital topics. Kharfan and Becker also discussed a feasibility study for Jordan and the most prominent problems and obstacles facing UNRWA’s work in the camps to reach solutions that would overcome these obstacles and enable UNRWA to fully carry out its work. Kharfan underlined the Jordanian government’s ongoing support for UNRWA to serve the Palestinian refugees in the Kingdom and address the obstacles it faces. In turn, Becker lauded the coordination of the visits of several delegations to the camps, most notably the visit of the President of the United Nations General Assembly to the al-Hussein camp and the visit of a German delegation to the Jerash camp.
