The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by extremist settlers, under the protection of the Israeli occupation police is an extension of the occupation’s ongoing assault on Jerusalem and its Christian and Islamic holy sites, with the aim of imposing complete control over the city and Judaizing it; adding that such actions represent a breach of international law and resolutions from international bodies, including UNESCO.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry called on the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities towards the suffering of the Palestinian people in general and Jerusalem and its holy sites in particular, as it is an integral part of the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967.
The Palestinian Foreign Ministry indicated that it is following up on these provocative incursions with the pillars of the international community, whether at the bilateral or multilateral level, and warns of their dangerous repercuss
ions on the conflict arena and the entire region.
