Palestinians demands UNRWA to rebuild their destroyed homes by Israelis

Hundreds of people affected by the Israeli aggression on Gaza in 2014 called on the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) to rebuild their homes on Thursday.

This came during a demonstration in which hundreds of affected people participated in front of UNRWA headquarters in Gaza, raising slogans calling for the reconstruction of their destroyed homes, nine years after the Israeli aggression.

Member of the Joint Committee for Palestinian Refugees, Dr. Mazen Al-Sheikh, said in his speech during the demonstration that for the ninth year, the file for the reconstruction of 15,000 housing units damaged by the Israeli aggression in 2014 is still in a state of waiting for compensation for those affected or the reconstruction of their destroyed homes.

Al-Sheikh added that (UNRWA) is an international institution responsible for the refugee community in the Gaza Strip, which represents 70 percent of the population, calling on the Commissioner-General (UNRWA) to work on completing the file of those affected by the aggression in all its stages.

On July 8, 2014, the Israeli occupation army launched an aggression against the Gaza Strip, which continued until October 12 of the same year, and left massive destruction in homes and infrastructure.
