Qatar Financial Centre Sees 37% Surge in Firm Registrations in H1 2026

Abu dhabi: The Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) concluded the first half of 2026 with a significant 37% increase in firm registrations compared to the same period in 2025, highlighting the effectiveness of its strategic initiatives and the attractiveness of Qatar's business environment for investors and entrepreneurs.

According to Emirates News Agency, QFC welcomed 1,135 new firms during this period, bringing the total number of registered firms to over 4,700 by the end of June. Notably, the Technology and Innovation sector led the growth with 544 new firms, followed by Media and Entertainment with 173, Consulting and Professional Services with 166, Wealth with 84, and Fintech with 65. This growth underscores the broad appeal and increasing relevance of the QFC platform for companies at the intersection of finance, innovation, and advisory services.

The growth in the first half of the year was further bolstered by QFC's active participation in the Web Summit Qatar 2026, where it received approximately 2,300 business licensing applications, marking a 44% increase from 2025. This positive trend reflects the impact of QFC's incentives and streamlined onboarding process, which includes waived registration and annual fees for the first three years and a comprehensive, one-stop-shop business setup model that simplifies the registration process.
