English newspaper, The Peninsula, underlined that Qatar is taking steps in all directions to ensure sustainability and save the natural resources for coming generations.

Through different initiatives and legislative frameworks, state institutions are making efforts to counter climate change and preserve environmental resources, the paper said.

The Cabinet has approved the draft water law and referred it to the Shura Council. The draft law, which was prepared by the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), comes to achieve water security; preserve water resources; protect them from depletion, waste, or pollution; raise the efficiency of water services and their uses; ensure their quality; and ensure proper maintenance and operation of their facilities, the paper noted.

Qatar is aware of the importance of water, the necessity of preserving it, rationalizing its consumption and managing its resources in a way that achieves sustainability, especially since these aspirations align with the Q
atar National Vision 2030 which aims to make sure that a decent living is provided to its people. Qatar also works to provide high-quality water services and continuously aims to reach them to the best levels while taking into account local and international health and safety standards, The Peninsula stressed.

On the other hand, Al-Sharq highlighted Qatar’s diplomatic role to reduce escalation in the region, pointing in this context to HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani’s assertion during a meeting with HE Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi, on the need for for concerted regional and international efforts to reduce escalation and avoid the expansion of the circle of violence in the region, affirming in this context the State of Qatar’s full readiness to do everything possible to enhance security and stability at the regional and international levels.

The State of Qatar has always called on the international community to take
urgent action to defuse tension and prevent the Middle East region from slipping into new cycles of conflicts, the paper noted.

The State of Qatar, as a leading diplomatic power in resolving conflicts and settling international disputes, is keen to use preventive diplomacy, mediation, and good offices as effective tools to resolve international crises. It is making strenuous efforts to stop the war in Gaza and Lebanon and prevent the escalation in the region, Al-Sharq concluded.
