In response to floods and climate change in Yemen, Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has launched an emergency intervention to alleviate the suffering of the victims, by meeting the basic shelter and food needs of 1,800 vulnerable and affected families in Marib, Al Hudaydah, Taiz, and Hajjah.
To date, the distributions covered 640 most affected and poorest families at seven camps/villages in three districts of Al Hudaydah.
A number of officials in the targeted Yemeni regions and governorates expressed their thanks to the QRCS for its response to provide relief to those affected, and called on all relief organizations to intervene, stressing that the damage caused by the floods is severe, and the need is great.
They pointed out that thousands of displaced families have become homeless and without food supplies as a result of this disaster, and that the aid of the QRCS contributes greatly to meeting part of the needs of the affected families and alleviating their suffering.
