Russia Reports Capture of New Village in Southeastern Ukraine, Downing 130 Drones

Beirut: Following intense military operations, the Russian Dnipro Group of Forces captured Bilohirya village in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, in southeastern Ukraine, and took out 1,040 Ukrainian troops and shot down 130 drones, the Russian Defense Ministry announced in a statement on Sunday. The statement reported that the Russian forces had successfully made a game-changer on all combat fronts in the special military operation zone, pointing out that their air forces, offensive drones and bombers, as well as missile and artillery forces, conducted offensive operations on facilities of the Ukrainian military-industrial complex.

According to Qatar News Agency, the Russian offensives targeted energy and transportation infrastructure deployed by the Ukrainian armed forces, in addition to their temporary deployment sites in 149 zones, the statement read. Over the past few weeks, Russia announced that its forces have made breakthroughs on several combat fronts and taken over numerous new areas in eastern Ukraine.

These operations went on concomitantly with the ongoing US-led peace talks to reach a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia.
